The Druk Path Trek is one of the most scenic and popular treks in Bhutan. It follows an ancient trading route between Paro and Thimphu, crossing through beautiful alpine forests, dwarf rhododendrons, and crystal-clear mountain lakes.
This moderate trek offers spectacular views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, the highest unclimbed peak in the world. You will encounter nomadic yak herders and visit ancient monasteries perched on remote ridges.
Meet your guide at Paro International Airport. Visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong. Explore the charming Paro town in the evening.
Start with a climb through dense forests. Reach Jili Dzong, a small fortress sitting on a ridge with stunning views of the Paro valley.
The trail follows the ridge through rhododendron forests. You might see yak herders camping along the way. Arrival at the scenic Jangchulakha campsite.
Ascend to a high ridge for spectacular mountain views. Descend to the beautiful Jimilang Tsho, a lake famous for its large trout.
Pass through Simkotra Tsho lake and cross several ridges. The trail offers a panoramic view of the Thimphu valley as you descend to Phajoding Monastery.
A final steep descent through blue pine forests to Thimphu. Visit the Buddha Point before transferring to Paro for your onward flight.
